- What had been dubbed POWER3 in the past is now being called the
- PowerPC 630 by IBM, it will be the first PowerPC processor to comprise
- more than one chip and marks a move to combine the POWER and PowerPC
- lines.

- It was only a demo, says the company and not a product - just as
- well, since it reportedly ran rather hot. But Apple's display at
- Comdex shows that IBM's fab is producing some 120MHz PowerPC 601s
